Q: Can I use moving labor on a Personally Procured Move (PPM)?
A: Yes. The military's PPM guidance explicitly lists hiring a commercial moving company as a way to conduct a full or partial PPM. Labor-only help is a common setup: you rent the truck or container, we load and unload, and you file our invoice with the rest of your PPM paperwork.
Q: Will the government reimburse me for hiring movers on a PPM?
A: Reimbursement is based on the Government Constructed Cost (GCC) for your weight and distance — 100 percent of GCC for a Member-Elected PPM in 2026 — not on what you actually spent. Keep every invoice, receipt, and weight ticket; your final payment is calculated from certified weight tickets up to your authorized allowance.
Q: What paperwork do I need to keep for a PPM with hired labor?
A: Weight tickets (truck empty and truck loaded, from a certified scale), our invoice, and receipts for every eligible expense — truck or container rental, fuel, packing materials, storage. Missing weight tickets can jeopardize the whole reimbursement. Confirm the exact documentation list with your installation Transportation Office before moving day.
Q: Do you need base access to move me on JBLE?
A: If pickup or delivery is on base, yes — and we need to know when you book so gate access is planned into the schedule. Tell us which side (Langley or Fort Eustis) and which gate you normally use.
Q: I'm moving into on-base housing. How far ahead should I book labor?
A: As early as you can. Housing waitlists at JBLE run longest May through August and can stretch six months or more for some grades and home sizes. If housing slips past your household-goods arrival, we can load into storage first and finish the move when keys are in hand.
Q: Can you load a rental truck or a portable container like a PODS?
A: Yes — that is the core of the labor-only model. We load rental trucks, trailers, and portable storage containers, and unload them at the other end. You handle the rental and the driving; we handle the heavy lifting.
Q: What if my housing isn't ready when my stuff arrives?
A: This is one of the most common JBLE scenarios. We move your goods into a storage unit, then complete the delivery into housing — on base or off — when you're ready. Two smaller jobs beats paying full-service long-distance prices twice.
Q: Do you move single service members out of the barracks?
A: Yes. Barracks and dorm moves are usually small — a room of furniture and boxes — and two movers for the three-hour minimum typically covers them. Same rate card, same invoice for your records.
